Within two weeks after surgery, you must have eye makeup every morning. Eye care required for sterile cotton balls and sterile water can be purchased in pharmacies.
What should I do to avoid corneal transplantation?
Do not touch or wipe your eyes after surgery. Within 1 to 2 months after surgery, the transplanted eyes do not touch the water and soap, away from dusty and crowded places. Avoid vigorous exercise within 4 to 6 weeks, avoid swimming and participate in physical activity that requires physical contact within 6 to 9 months. Avoid constipation, bend the body or extract heavy objects.
What should you pay attention to after corneal transplantation?
Within a few weeks after surgery, it is normal for the transplanted eyes to feel uncomfortable. You may feel because of the suture and the eyes seem to have "sand", but do not rub your eyes. The doctor will remove the suture within 3 months to 1 year after surgery.

Under what circumstances do you need to seek medical attention immediately?

Increased tears
You can visit your attending doctor at the Ophthalmology Center during office hours. If your attending physician is absent, we will arrange other corneal doctors. In non-office hours, please go to the Singapore Central Hospital, the first building (Block 1) emergency department for treatment.

We will give you contact telephone for the corneal nurse to help you contact him whenever you need it. If you do not have a 24-hour contact number for a corner nurse, please ask us at the time of the next referral.
